This Privacy Policy explains how Chorily processes personal data on the Chorily marketing website and beta application pages.
This policy applies to:
- the public website at chorily.com
- localized pages such as /en, /sv, /fi
- beta application pages such as /en/beta, /sv/beta, /fi/beta
This policy does not yet cover the Chorily app or a paid customer service. Separate terms and privacy information may apply when Chorily moves from private beta to public launch.

We may collect the following information when you use the website or apply to the beta.
Beta application data
When you apply to the Chorily beta, we may collect:
- name
- email address
- choir name
- country
- choir type
- approximate number of singers
- your role in the choir
- preferred language
- whether your choir mainly uses digital scores, paper scores, or both
- tools your choir uses today
- free-text answers about what you would like Chorily to help with
- consent to be contacted about the beta
Communication data
If you contact us by email, we may process:
- your email address
- your name
- message content
- any information you choose to include
Technical and usage data
When you visit the website, we may process basic technical information, such as:
- IP address
- browser type
- device type
- approximate location based on technical data
- visited pages
- timestamps
- language preference
- basic security and error logs
Language preference
The site may store your selected language locally in your browser so that the site can remember whether you prefer English, Swedish, or Finnish.
3. Why we use your data
We use personal data for the following purposes.
To process beta applications
We use beta application data to review applications, understand whether Chorily is a good fit for your choir, contact selected applicants, and plan onboarding.
To communicate with you
We use your contact details to respond to messages and contact you about your beta application.
To improve the website and product
We may use aggregated or limited technical data to understand how the website is used, improve clarity, fix errors, and develop Chorily.
To keep the website secure
We process technical logs to detect errors, prevent misuse, and protect the website and beta form.
To comply with legal obligations
We may process data where required by law.
4. Legal basis for processing
Depending on the context, we process personal data based on:
- consent, when you submit a beta application and agree that we may contact you
- legitimate interests, such as improving the website, responding to messages, and keeping the website secure
- legal obligations, where we are required to retain or disclose information by law
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting hello@chorily.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before the withdrawal.
5. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary.
Indicative retention periods:
- beta application data: up to 24 months, unless a longer period is needed for beta communication or future onboarding
- email communications: as long as needed to handle the conversation and for a reasonable follow-up period
- technical logs: normally up to 12 months
- language preference: until you clear your browser storage or change your preference
We may keep limited information longer if required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
6. Who receives the data
We may use trusted service providers to operate the website and beta application process. These may include:
- website hosting providers
- database or form handling providers
- email service providers
- security and analytics providers
- professional advisors, if necessary
These providers may process personal data only for the purposes described in this policy and according to our instructions.
We do not sell personal data.

8a. Website analytics
We use privacy-friendly website analytics to understand overall traffic, page views, referral sources and beta funnel performance. We do not use analytics to identify individual visitors. We do not send names, email addresses, choir names or beta application free-text answers to analytics.

- request deletion of your data
- request restriction of processing
- object to processing based on legitimate interests
- withdraw consent
- request data portability where applicable
- lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

10. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling to decide who is accepted into the Chorily beta. Applications are reviewed personally.
